Garmin Forerunner 305 is probably the biggest key piece of equipment I use on a daily basis. I carry this on me almost at all times. Satelite tracks where all of my workouts take place, heart rate and cadence monitors keep track of my power output allowing me to make on the fly adjustments to my level of training.
My first road bike was purchased at On The Route in downtown chicago. It is a Carbon Fiber Fuji Pro. Shimano 105 shifters, ultegra derailleur, shimano pedals and wheels with Hutchinson tires which were given to me by a good friend Jon Owens. I love this bike… I will ride any chance I get with any excuse I can come up with. If there is any reason why I’m not out riding during any given free time it is probably because I am training another sport. Areo bars will be the first addition to this bike
followed by some carbon wheels I assume. None the less the first 550 miles on this bike “out of the box” so to speak have been a dream without any mods.
Edit: Aero Bars are on now, Profile Carbon Strykes and I love them!
Mizuno Wave Nirvana 4 shoes. I actually just came out of a pair of Brooks Trance which treated me pretty well for the last 400 miles but I wanted to try something different. Same level of cushion and support as the Brooks Trance, just different technology.
Louis Garneau Carbon Fiber Air Tri shoe. Weight 3 grams, vented souls, 3 strap system with quick release. This are my first actual triathlon riding shoes as I started with some hand me down mountain bike Sidi’s from Mike Ewbank. Now I just need to get some speed play pedals!
